ABOUT MONICA

EDUCATION

Monica graduated in Architecture at IUAV – University of Architecture in Venice – in 1992 with the thesis “Verification of architectural and functional congruence in a building of 1700”, which introduced a new preliminary procedure of architectural and structural analysis for a correct re-use of historical buildings in relation to contemporary needs.

BACKGROUND

Being born and raised in the northeast of Italy – between Venice and Milan – in a land famous worldwide for its historical and artistic heritage and important manufacturing district for furniture, marble, fabric, blown glass, wrought iron and much more, Monica has nourished her passion for both architecture and interior design.

Over time Monica has enhanced her activity in the architectural designing of new buildings and in the recovery of existing buildings of great historical and artistic value, with experiences in Italy and Eastern European countries.

At the same time, her passion for interior design and her knowledge of materials and craft skills of Italian manufacturing companies have led her to a contemporary vision of “made in Italy” and inspired her to promote it in Italy and abroad, even through participation in international exhibitions with experiences in Europe, North Africa, Sultanate of Oman and United States.

Today Monica is very active as project manager and design consultant all over the world specifically in the United States and Europe and easily cooperates with other professionals in the belief that the synergy among different experiences and skills can be valuable and make a significant contribution to achieving the final goal.

"A design object is the result of the common effort of many people with different specific technical, industrial, commercial and aesthetic skills. The designer's work is the expressive synthesis of this collective work. What characterizes the designing process is the continuous relationship between several operators, from the entrepreneur to the last worker."

Among the various activities Monica has also dealt with the development of the graphic design used on the website, weekly newsletters, advertising in specialized magazines and the setting-up of the exhibition space on the occasion of the ICFF – International Contemporary Furniture Fair – South Florida Exhibition in October 2017.

Corporate offices

WORK IN PROGRESS

Preliminary designing phase about the representative offices of an important Italian customer.
The main difficulty is due to the historical and artistic context of the building, which is subject to protection restrictions and requires particular attention in the recovery and the reintegration of existing architectural and decorative elements.
The project provides for a new space planning with the design of entirely customized furnishings including lighting and all interior finishes related to:
– new entrance hall
– representative spaces (reception, meeting room, training room),
– open space offices and managerial offices
– service areas (restrooms, wardrobe, storage / warehouse)
